Vermiculite
Description
Natural material of Thermal insulation, water conservation and fire resistance
Description
Vermiculite is a mineral having cleavages. Vermiculite mined by AVI in Australia has superior water holding, thermal insulation and fireproofing characteristics.
Features
At about 1,000 particles of vermiculite expand at right angles to the cleavage into accordion-shaped pieces. Exfoliated vermiculite is lightweight and porous. Since an increase in bulk volume of AVI vermiculite is higher than any crude vermiculite mined in other countries, its applications are extensive: thermal insulating board, building materials and soil conditioning agent.
Application
Lightweight concrete and plaster
Insulator, sound deadening compounds and fire protection
Lightweight aggregate and molded cement board
Horticultural soil conditioner
